ALIAS and Pyramidal Technologies earn global praise from law enforcement media

By Mike Barrett

We're very pleased with the recognition and praise for ALIAS from the global law enforcement media over the last year. It's gratifying to know that our mission to solve more crimes, convict more criminals and save more lives has this high level of support worldwide. Some recent examples:

"With software like Pyramidal Technologies’ ALIAS system, the work of forensic ballistics experts stands to get much easier.

The software is far ahead of the commonly used Integrated Ballistics Identification System (IBIS), Mike Barrett, President and CEO of Pyramidal Technologies said. Barrett should know — he was the original developer of IBIS and has worked in the field of forensic ballistics for more than 25 years."

PoliceOne.com

"ALIAS is a full 3-D imaging, correlation, visualization and confirmation system that builds visually rich 3-D cartridge images, then provides powerful software tools to analyze them using topographically sensitive colorization and adjustable light source and axis orientation.

ALIAS image data is captured by the world’s finest Swiss-built, application-specific interferometer and then processed with a thoroughly modern 64-bit computing and application architecture that rapidly defines 3-D data with patented algorithms and methodologies."

Public Safety IT Magazine

"IBIS has fallen behind the technology curve. What was needed was a simpler-to-use, more accurate, scalable and less expensive system that takes advantage of the huge advances in 3-D imaging that have occured since the early 1990s.

Pyramidal Technologies assembled a technology and ballistics team to develop and introduce the next generation of forensic ballistics to law enforcement agencies around the world."

Law and Order Magazine

ALIAS’s 3D cartridge images offer resolution of two microns. Its straightforward, three-step imaging/correlation/confirmation protocol promotes simple operation, quicker ramp-up times, and less margin for error. It also allows law enforcement agencies to export 3D scans and associated demographic data to other visualization packages or departmental systems."
